If you are like me when it comes to anything mechanical or "some assembly required", the first thing I do is study those illustrations. I read every trigger wheel post I could fine on the VRCC boards in preparation for my trigger wheel installation. I got very confused reading the text. Once I got the dust cover off and could do a good visual inspection things became much clearer. So in an attempt to help anyone else in this situation I'm posting additional pictures of my install. These are simply photos to enhance any existing instructions you may have read about - not a step by step procedure. Installing the Trigger Wheel was no big deal. Things can go wrong and there are certain precautions you need to be aware of but overall a simple procedure (even for me).

I have included a collection of posts from the VRCC boards that I used to study and prepare for the install. I hope this helps. Click here for VRCC Trigger Wheel posts.
My install notes:
1) My dust cover bolts were a LOT easier to break
loose with the engine hot.
2) I used the 5th gear/rear brake method to loosen
the crank bolt.
3) I did not remove the belt. After loosening
the tensioner bolts and disconnecting the spring (from the bottom) I was
able to simply grab hold of the crank pulley with belt on (fig 5), slide
it off and let it gently hang there. Pulled off old trigger wheel
and put new one on (be sure the word OUT is facing you, fig 1). Grabbed
hanging crank pulley (with belt still on) and pushed it back onto the shaft.
4) Here is something that confused me after reading
all the "how to" posts. After tightening up the crank bolt I wanted
to check for proper alignment. I DID mark belt and pulley(s) with
a marker just in case (D). I read you need to manually rotate the
crank twice until the index marks are realigned. The machines index
marks lined up fine but the marks I created with the marker did not.
I expected them to. Do not expect them to. Marks you create
are only for reference points when reinstalling the belt (if you choose
to remove the belt). To check for proper alignment use the Honda
index marks.
